The Fontana Story

  • Our History

    The beginning

The Fontana tradition of excellence and craftsmanship goes back to 1945, when Giuseppe Fontana, the eldest of nine children, returned from the war to his hometown of San Lorenzo In Campo in the Marche region of Italy.

In 1952, Giuseppe’s younger brothers Bruno and Carlo joined him in expanding the family hardware and manufacturing business. They began hiring additional employees in 1954, as demand for their products and services quickly grew.It was five years later when they produced their signature achievement — the one with which the Fontana name has since been identified.

  • 70 years on

    Today

Fast forward to today, Fontana Forni employs 28 master-craftsmen and is led by Giovanni, Marco, Alessandro, and Nicola Fontana..

The Fontana name continues to be synonymous with the finest old-world Italian craftsmanship and best-bread modern technology.

The fontana Difference

  • Designed & Made in Italy

Since the first Fontana Oven was made, the Italian master craftsmen behind Fontana Forni have held themselves to the most exacting standards.

All work, manufacturing and construction is controlled by 3rd generation artisans and a local workforce in San Lorenzo, Italy

  • Superior Materials

Fontana pizza ovens are constructed using 2.5 millimetre 441 (interior) & 304 (exterior) stainless steel: the highest quality available on consumer or commercial pizza ovens.

Coupled with 12cm thick insulation and corrosion-resistant powder-coated metal, the materials used are of the highest quality.

  • Exacting Construction

Fontana uses all continuous solid-weld in the dome construction of each oven, not the spot welding or screws you may find with inferior ovens, which warp or break under the duress of high temperatures.

We are proud to say, many of the first Fontana wood-fired ovens built in the late 1970's are still in use today.

  • Unparalleled Performance

Over-engineered & built for maximum heat refraction, retention and efficiency, Fontana ovens perform like no other, delivering results you will fall in love with time and time again.
